Get an up-close look at the difference between a rock and a fossil, view a variety of fossils including a 30 million year old whale from Washington and one of the largest fossilized tortoises found in Oregon! Students work on a real dinosaur fossil and make their own cast of a Velociraptor claw to take home.

Tools of the Paleontologist

Students help clean a real 65 million year old Triceratops, using professional tools and techniques. Find out how paleontologists try to solve the mystery of long-dead creatures and what they use for evidence.

Grades: 6-8, 9-12
