Students explore life in Oregon's watersheds by creating rivers in a stream table and exploring fascinating living worlds through a video-microscope.

Grades: 3-5, 6-8

Balancing Act:
Human Needs and Habitats

Through role-play at the stream table, students experience how different human activities impact the stream environment. They then work together to design ways to balance human and habitat needs.

What is a Watershed? It's More Than a Map!

Using maps and models, students discover the characteristics of watersheds by creating mountain ranges, testing predictions of water flow, and exploring the effects of different river designs at a stream table.
