Session 2: Environmental Chemistry

All the experiments in this session were taken from OMSI's Experiencing Chemistry Museum Manual and Teacher Resource Guide, developed with funding from the National Science Foundation.

The two-volume Museum Manual provides comprehensive in-depth information and procedures to reproduce all of OMSI's chemistry lab activities for seven integrated units. In addition to detailed guides to each activity, the Manual includes everything you need to know to set up a chemistry lab like OMSI's: physical layout, equipment, chemical storage and hygiene, standard operating procedures, staff training, working with school groups, and working with volunteers and high school interns. The Manual also includes several appendices that serve as useful references.

The Teacher Resource Guide provides companion activities for all seven Experiencing Chemistry units that you can recreate in class or at home using safe and easy-to-find materials.
