Students from several schools - including OMSI's International Public Science Day Partner, Franklin High School - and other special guests were invited to OMSI on Tuesday, February 18 for a special videoconference with Dr. Jack Bacon of NASA's Johnson Space Center. Prior to the videoconference, Oregon Senators Ron Wyden and Gordon Smith announced a special new $1 million federal appropriation to OMSI to fund distance learning projects on space. In addition to the guests at OMSI, students from around Oregon were also able to partipate in the conversation with Senators Smith and Wyden and Dr. Bacon via the Oregon Access Network.
